In search for a new Pole

No not the North Pole or the other kind of pole but a fishing pole. I recently got the oppurtunity to test out a new pole off of Amazon. This pole would make a terrific present for yourself or for the fisher in your life. Here’s the link for the pole…/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage

The pole is made from carbon fibers and the rod itself can be used in either hand which is great  for those lefties. The rod itself is black and has gold going around the reel. So its color friendly for any gender.

I wouldn’t suggest using this for any huge fish but for your run of the mill fish that are less than 20 pounds I think your in good shape with using this pole.

I did receive this pole (free of charge) for testing purposes.

Hello can you hear me? guess not cuz my phone is dead

Im so frustrated today. I woke up early to get the kids on there way and I noticed that my phone had a message from Metro PCS. It stated that my phone needed an update and that it would take 10 mins. So, I clicked the update and went on about my business. When I returned to the phone an hour and a half later it still said that it was updating, I waited alittle longer than I noticed it was stuck. I took the phone back off took the sim out and restarted the phone. Same problem…..

Frustrated, I called the customer care line and the lady was like well I cant do anything here thats why I never do the updates on my phone. So I took the phone into one of the local shops and the two agents worked on my phone for over an hour. So I said just do the factory reset. So they did and my phone stayed frozen…. and is still frozen.

So, currently I have no extra cash to spend on a cell phone and the agents suggestion was to see if the factory could send me a new phone she just didnt know when that phone would come in and when it did it would be a refurb phone… Terrific so now im out of a phone

Thanks alot Metro thanks alot

Chronic Absenteeism

We have all been there – kids missing school for one reason or another. Maybe it’s a vacation that just had to happen, sick family members, sick children. Whatever the case may be, generally we have the resources to help our kids stay on track and not fall behind if they miss school. But that simply isn’t the case for everyone.

Chronic absenteeism is an issue that everyone can help to solve. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, community leader, afterschool provider or mentoring provider – it is our duty to help these kids who do not have the resources that they need to keep from falling behind.

New research released by the Ad Council, shows that an overwhelming majority (86%) of parents understand their child’s school attendance plays a significant role in helping them succeed in graduating from high school. However, nearly half (49%) of parents believe it is okay for their child to miss three or more days of school – and that they won’t fall behind academically if they do. In reality, missing just two days per month makes children more likely to fall behind and less likely to graduate.

As early as elementary school, students who miss just two school days each month are more likely to fall behind in reading, writing and math, even if the absences are excused. While some challenges to a child’s attendance are unavoidable, it’s important to understand the impact of each absence.

Chronic Absenteeism

A student is chronically absent if he or she misses only two days of school per month (18 days per year). Even one year of chronic absence can cause a child to fall behind academically and decrease a child’s chances of graduating from high school, which can have long-term consequences on their financial independence, physical well-being and mental health.

Key Takeaways for Parents

  • Every absence matters.
  • Absences matter as early as elementary school.
  • Absences matter whether they are excused or unexcused.
  • Students who miss just two days of school each month, or 18 days in a year, are more likely to fall behind in reading, writing and math and less likely to graduate from high school.

Tips and Suggestions

  • Keep track of how many days of school your child has missed.
  • Figure out why your child is absent from school.
  • Are they dealing with a chronic illness like asthma?
  • Are they being bullied or struggling at school?

Really Amazon

I’m sitting here (already disgusted by this year) and I get the news that Amazon is no longer allowing reviewers to post reviews on their website if they have received the item for free or at a discount. I’m like terrific that’s all I been doing for days on end for the last two years.

I get where Amazon is coming from. People who are going on Amazon and wanting to buy an item and all they see is “I got this item for free in exchange for my honest opinion”.  Well, I too would be like hmm is this item really going to work or did they just give it five stars because they got it for free?

It sucks for those of us who really sat down and reviewed the item. If the item sucked I said as much in my review. If the item was great well I sung its praises

It’s always a few sucky people out there that spoils stuff for the rest of us, but that’s life.

If your curious to see Amazon’s new TOS here ya go:

I am hair

If your in the market for a high quality wig, you need to head over to this website
I got the opportunity to review one of their wigs and might I add the wig is awesome. Not because me and wig share a name but because the wig is affordable and can compete with that of some of the more expensive wigs. For starters, the wig comes with a wig cap which you know is the number one thing to wearing a wig successfully.  It has adjustable straps on the inside of the wig to ensure a comfortable wig and did I mention the wig comes in an a array of colors
If you have alopecia, or your hair is thinning, or you just want to change your look up this website as a look for you.
